Freshman Vince India posted a 76 (+4) to finish in seventh place overall. Competing in his first Big Ten Championships, he recorded a stellar 294 (+6) to lead Iowa. Senior Dan Holterhaus finished tied for 19th with a 301 (+13). He posted a 76 on the final day. Junior Cole Peevler shot a two-over par 74 Sunday. He finished tied for 35th with a 307 (+19). Adam Miller posted his best round of the tournament, shooting a 76 on the final day. Miller finished with a 314 (+26) to tie for 46th. Additionally, Todd Larson finished 52nd with a 317 (+29).
“I am very pleased with Vince’s performance today, “said Head Coach Mark Hankins. “He fought hard after a tough start to post a good round. As a team we had our chances to make a move and did not take advantage of our opportunities. We played well at times this weekend, but were unable to put together full rounds. Overall, we are not pleased with our finish, but I am pleased with the effort our guys gave all weekend.”
Hankins also discussed his first season at Iowa.
“Throughout the year we were inconsistent, but we had some great individual performances,” said Hankins. “We graduate four seniors this year but return our top two scorers in Cole Peevler and Vince India. With four incoming freshmen, there should be great competition for the top five spots.”
