The University of Iowa baseball team will conclude its fall season at Banks Field Friday at 6 p.m. The Hawkeyes will take on Nebraska. Admission to the game will be free.
“This game gives us an opportunity to see where we are as a ball club at the end of the fall,” head coach Jack Dahm said. “We are hosting one of the premiere programs in the country and are very excited. It will be regarded as a Big Ten game — we will do all of our normal warm ups and try to make this feel like a Friday conference game.”
The Iowa baseball team lost an exhibition game against Iowa Western 9-5 on Oct. 3. The Hawkeyes took an early lead in the second inning, but gave up nine runs to lose in the scheduled ten inning game.
To lead the Hawkeyes offensively, Kurtis Muller went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk. Zach McCool went 1-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. Pitcher Zach Kenyon got the start and pitched two solid innings with no runs allowed and one strikeout.
“This should be an exciting game and our players would enjoy playing in front of a large crowd,” Dahm said.
Hawkeye fans not able to come to Banks Field can follow the action on gametracker.
