Heavy Rains Delaying Start of Saturday Regional Play

May 16, 2009

ATLANTA – – Due to heavy rains in the Atlanta area, the start of NCAA Softball Regional action has been delayed. The Hawkeyes were scheduled to meet Boston University in an elimination game this afternoon, in the second contest of the day at Mewborn Field.

However, due to the inclement weather, today’s first game between Auburn and host-school Georgia Tech has been pushed back to a 5:30 p.m. (CT) start. The Iowa-Boston University contest will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of today’s first game (approximately 8 p.m. CT).

The winner of the Iowa-Boston University game will play the loser of the Auburn-Georgia Tech contest later tonight, weather permitting.
