Seventy-Four Hawkeyes Named Spring Academic All-Big Ten

June 2, 2010

IOWA CITY — The Big Ten Conference has announced that 74 University of Iowa student-athletes have been named to the 2010 spring Academic all-Conference team. The list includes student-athletes from women’s rowing (18), women’s track (17), men’s track (10), baseball (8), women’s tennis (6), men’s golf (5), men’s tennis (5), softball (3) and women’s golf (2).

In addition, four of the selected student-athletes from Iowa carried a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Those student-athletes include Katie Ellis and Hannah Roeder (women’s track), Reinoud Haal (men’s tennis) and Anna Kolden (women’s rowing).

To be eligible for an academic all-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
