LOS ANGELES — University of Iowa junior Sonja Molnar finished play at the ITA All-American Invitational Friday. Molnar began the day by recording a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Duke’s Mary Clayton before falling to Ariel Ellis of Texas 6-2, 7-6 (11). Molnar was competing in the main draw’s consolation bracket. She finished the tournament with a 3-3 record, leaving her 7-3 overall for the season.
Molnar will return to action Oct. 22 when she competes at the ITA Regional event in Little Rock, Ark.
