Ten Named Academic All-Big Ten

Dec. 14, 2010

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Ten member s of the University of Iowa women’s soccer team have been recognized as Academic All-Big Ten performers. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

Four seniors were awarded the distinction, Jenna Aleo, a Recreation Management major, Kali Feieresel, an International Studies major, Stephanie Swanson, a Mechanical Engineering major, and Amanda Martin, a Communication Studies major. Juniors Sarah Langlas and Gabrielle Tinner earned the recognition as Accounting/Finance and History majors, respectively. Four sophomores, including Stefani Campbell-Chemistry, Dana Dalrymple-Art/Anthropology, Jade Grimm-Integrative Physiology and Kat Lewis-Business were also recognized.

“Over the past decade, we have had multiple student-athletes named to this list,” Ron Rainey, women’s head soccer coach said. “This honor is just a tribute to everything our players do in the classroom. They work very hard on and off the field.”
