CHICAGO — The University of Iowa women’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision against No. 34 DePaul (7-4 overall) Sunday at the Lakeshore Athletic Club. No. 48 Iowa is now 2-5 overall for the season.
The Hawkeyes were unable to claim the doubles point. At the No. 1 position, the No. 32 team consisting of junior Sonja Molnar and senior Jessica Young topped the No. 55 duo of Katarina Milinkovic and Gia McKnight, 8-3. Molnar and Young improved to 5-1 on the season.
In singles, Iowa received victories from senior Lynne Poggensee-Wei and freshman Christina Harazin. Poggensee-Wei won 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 3 position against Selma Salkovic. Harazin topped Cali Gustafson 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.
The Hawkeyes return to action on Feb. 27 when they travel to face Missouri.
