Hawkeyes Compete in Day One of Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark – The University of Iowa Track and Field teams recorded five personal best marks during day one of the Razorback Invitational on Friday. Three of those personal best marks rank among the Iowa all-time top ten performers list.

Zinnia Miller had a solid first day. The sophomore reached a personal best mark of 18-7 (5.66m) in the long jump to finish eighth. That mark ranks ninth all-time at Iowa. Miller also tied her personal best mark of 5-6 (1.68m) in the high jump to finish sixth. Sophomore Carisa Leacock also had a strong day in the field. Leacock took sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 19-2 (5.84m). That mark ranks fourth all-time at Iowa.

Erin Jones led the Hawkeyes in the 200 meters. The sophomore finished 18th with a time of 24.75. Sophomore Raven Moore also competed in the 200 meters. Moore tied her personal best time of 24.80 to finish 21st.

Junior all-American Justin Austin led the sprinters, running to a sixth place finish in the 60 meters with a time of 6.80.

Freshman Josh Larney jumped to a personal best mark in the long jump. Larney reached the 23-9 (7.24m) mark to finish eighth. That mark ties for tenth all-time at Iowa.

The Hawkeyes return to competition tomorrow at day two of the Razorback Invitational. The events are set to begin at 11 a.m. Full results are available at www.flashresults.com.
