MINNEAPOLIS — Jonas Dierckx, Matt Hagan, Garret Dunn, and Michael Swank of the University of Iowa men’s tennis team competed Friday at the ITA Regionals. Dierckx saw the most success today, claiming the lone Iowa victory in tournament play.
Dierckx squared off against Grant Ive of Tulsa in the opening round of the Men’s Singles Round of 64. After losing the first set 4-6, Dierckx battled back and won the last two sets 6-1, 7-6 (1). Hagan and Dunn both fell in their respective singles matches.
Doubles teams Dierckx/Hagan and Dunn/Swank both fell in their doubles matches after receiving first round byes.
Action will continue at the ITA Regionals beginning Saturday at 9 a.m.
