IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team dominated Iowa Central Community College on Friday night at Pearl Field, 20-0, in eight innings.
The home team scored in the first seven innings and sophomore Megan Blank hit a grand slam in the second.
The Hawkeyes have outscored their opponents 32-0 in their last two contests. Iowa defeated Muscatine Community College on Sept. 28, 12-0.
“We made huge improvements over last week,” said head coach Marla Looper. “We will look to continue to build off of that heading into our last week of competitions.”
The Hawkeyes will host three more fall contests at Pearl Field. Iowa hosts Kirkwood Community College (Friday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m.) before closing its fall slate with a doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, Oct. 13 (1 p.m. and 3 p.m).
