PALO ALTO, Calif. – University of Iowa track and field athletes Kevin Lewis and Mareike Schrulle competed in the 5,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational on Friday evening. The Stanford Invitational was held on the Cobb Track and Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif.
Kevin Lewis ran to a seventh-place finish in the third section of the men’s 5,000 meters. The sophomore clocked a personal best time of 14:08.04. That time ranks seventh all-time at Iowa. Graduate student Mareike Schrulle earned a 16th place finish in the second section of the women’s 5,000 meters. Schrulle crossed the line in 16:26.40.
The Hawkeyes will return to action April 4-6 at the Jim Click Invite in Tempe, Ariz.
