IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa sophomore Addison Boschult was named Big Ten Diver of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Boschult earned the accolade after posting a first, sixth, and eighth place finish at the annual Hawkeye Invitational on Dec. 6-8.
In the platform competition, Boschult finished with final score of 373.85 to claim the top spot. The mark is a new Iowa record, and an NCAA Zone Diving standard.
Boschult also placed sixth in the 3-meter springboard (317.95) and eighth in the 1-meter competition (270.25).
The Diver of the Week honor is the first of Boschult’s career. Boschult is the first Hawkeye to earn the honor since Frank Van Dijkhuizen on Oct. 27, 2009.
Iowa returns to action Jan. 18, hosting Missouri and Indiana in a pair of dual meets at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Pool.
