Minneapolis — The University of Iowa concluded the 2014 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships Wednesday with a pair of top five finishes on the platform event. Sophomore Addison Boschult and freshman Calli Head paced the Hawkeyes to their best day of diving at the three-day event hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Boscult dove to a school record during the prelims of the platform when he scored 381.50 points. The score tops his previous school record set at the 2013 Hawkeye Invitational, and sent Boschult into the finals in fifth place. After the finals concluded, Boschult remained in fifth with a combined score of 753.25.
Head qualified for the finals in the platform in fourth place with a five-dive score of 289.50. The score falls one-tenth shy of the school record of 289.60, which Head posted at the 2014 Big Ten Championships. Head would finish the finals in fifth place, tallying 551.10 points. Freshamn Lydia Lehnert fell just shy of the 12 person final, coming in 15th place with a score of 244.95.
