ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of Iowa sophomore Klyvens Delaunay placed 13th in the triple jump Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Delaunay jumped 50-2 3/4 (15.31m) on his second attempt. He needed to hit 51-8 1/4 (15.75m) on his third attempt to advance to the finals, but landed at 49-7 3/4 (15.13m).
Baylor’s Felix Obi won the national title with a mark of 54-4 1/4 (16.59m).
The Hawkeyes open the outdoor season March 28 at the Arizona State Invitational.
