Junior Ian Vandersee posted a 73 (+2) on Friday, and is currently tied for 44th place individually.
“We got off to a solid start and were able to keep pushing for birdies today in good conditions,” said head coach Mark Hankins. “Arizona State shot a great round today and we can’t control that. We will continue to go about our business, stay in the present and work to achieve our goals.”
The Hawkeyes resume play tomorrow, teeing off the second round from 11:30 a.m. to 12:06 p.m. (CT).
