4 Hawkeyes Set PRs at Stanford Invitational

April 4, 2014

STANFORD, Calif. — University of Iowa juniors Kevin Lewis, Shannon Maser, and Rachel Price, and freshman Kevin Docherty set personal records Friday night at the Stanford Invitational.

Lewis placed ninth in the men’s 5,000 meters with a time of 14:02.78. His new personal record ranks fifth all-time at Iowa and is more than five seconds faster than his previous best set last season on the same track.

Maser finished the women’s 1,500 meters in 4:38.25, placing sixth in her heat and shaving two seconds off her previous best. Price trimmed nearly 12 seconds off her previous 1,500-meter personal record. She placed 14th in her heat with a time of 4:40.99.

Docherty placed 11th in his men’s 1,500-meter heat. He finished in 3:53.73, nearly four seconds better than his debut performance last week at the ASU Invite.

Junior Ben Witt ran 3:53.13 to place eighth in his heat of the men’s 1,500 meters.
