EUGENE, Ore. — University of Iowa track and field athletes Zinnia Miller and Gabe Hull earned second team All-America honors today at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Hull recorded a discus toss of 190-3 (57.99m) on his second attempt to finish 11th. This marks the second time Hull has earned All-America honors in his career. The junior earned second team honors for his 15th-place finish in the discus a year ago.
Miller earned second team All-America honors with a 15th-place finish in the triple jump. The senior recorded a leap of 41-9 ¾ (12.74m). Miller also earned first team honors for her performance in the long jump on Wednesday (5th; 20-11 ¾; 6.39m).
The national championships conclude tomorrow with two Iowa qualifiers still chasing gold. The men’s 400-meter relay team races for the national title at 4:03 p.m. (CT), while junior Babatunde Amosu chases the gold medal in the triple jump at 2:30 p.m. (CT).
