EUGENE, Ore. — Five Hawkeyes earned All-America honors on the final day of the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The men’s 400-meter relay team ran to a sixth-place finish to earn first team All-America honors. The team of senior Tevin-Cee Mincy, freshman O’Shea Wilson, sophomore James Harrington, and junior Keith Brown crossed the line in 39.55.
Babatunde Amosu earned second team All-America honors in the men’s triple jump. The junior recorded a leap of 51-11 ¾ (15.84m) to finish 13th.
“This week was a great conclusion to a tremendous season,” said Head Coach Layne Anderson. “Throughout the year we saw a young team grow up with each meet. The future of the program looks bright, and we send Coach Wieczorek off with a program he can be proud to call Hawkeyes.”
