EVANSTON, Ill – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team continued play in the Wildcat Invite Saturday. The second day of the tournament consisted of one round of singles and one round of doubles.Senior Aimme Tarun, junior Montana Crawford, and freshman Elise van Heuvelen will all play in the championship matches for their respected draws tomorrow afternoon.van Heuvelen remained undefeated for the fall season when she defeated Monica Robinson from Norte Dame. The freshman dropped the first set of the match, 3-6, but bounced back to win the second set 6-1. The freshman won the final set, 1-0, to secure the victory. Sophomore Adorabol Huckleby, Tarun, and Crawford each won singles matches today.Huckelby defeated Wisconsin’s Melissa Pick in two sets. The sophomore won the first set 6-4, and took the second set 6-1 to register her first singles vicroty of the weekend. Tarun defeated Nina van Oost from Northwestern in two sets. Tarun took the first set 6-4, and followed up with a 6-2 victory to win the match. Crawford took down Norte Dame’s Jeanie Nash in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
