IOWA CITY, Iowa — Danielle Bauers has a signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Iowa and compete for the Hawkeyes next fall, UI women’s tennis head coach Sasha Schmid announced Wednesday.
“I am thrilled to announce Danielle will join our team next fall,” said Schmid. “She is an outstanding person, an accomplished tennis player and a committed student in the classroom. I love Danielle’s work ethic and dedication to developing her tennis game. Danielle is a terrific addition to our Hawkeye tennis family and she will make an immediate impact in our lineup in both singles and doubles.”
Bauers, a native of Alpharetta, Georgia, is as a five-start recruit on tennisrecruiting.net.
She was a finalist in the Summer ITA Middle Tennessee State Tournament this past July, and won the 18s consolation championship at the Georgia State Closed Qualifying Championship.
Bauers won doubles titles at the 18s Icy Hot Southern Doubles Championship, the 18s Southern Closed Doubles Championship, and the 18s Regional Closed Tournament this past year.
Bauers is a two-time Georgia State Team Championship Finalist (May 2014, May 2015) and was also named the Talented and Gifted Academic Student all four years in high school.
