COLLEGE PARK, Maryland – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team fell, 5-2, to No. 43 Maryland today at the Tennis Center at College Park.
 
Juniors Zoe Douglas and Anastasia Reimchen picked up wins in singles play.
 
Reimchen remains undefeated in singles, bringing her record at No. 3 to 8-0 after a, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, victory over Arnelle Sullivan.
 
Douglas improved to 6-3 on court two with a, 7-6(5), 4-6, 10-6 win over Maryland’s Ekaterina Tour.
 
Seniors Natalie Looney and Aimee Tarun kept their 4-0 doubles record intact. Their match was left unfinished after Maryland grabbed the doubles point.
 
“Tough loss for us today,” said UI head coach Sasha Schmid. “Maryland played well at crucial times. We can learn a lot from today’s match.
 
The Hawkeyes return to action Sunday at noon (CT) in Annapolis, Maryland against Navy.
