PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — University of Iowa junior Jessica Ip fired a 75 (+3) in the opening round of the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational on Sunday afternoon to pace the Iowa women’s golf team at the El Tigre Golf Club. The Hawkeyes are in 13th place with a 317 (+29).

“Our team must be tougher under windy conditions,” said UI head coach Megan Menzel. “We did not respond to the challenge the golf course presented today.  We must come back tomorrow with better shot making decisions and a better effort around the greens.”
