HEAR FROM COACH SHYMANSKY
“That was a gut-check for us today. I could tell when we came out flat and tried to put it on cruise control, and we were trading points with them in the first set, I knew that wasn’t a good sign. You could feel it on our group. We weren’t communicating well. We weren’t willing to put the sweat equity in yet.”

“Instead of learning the hard way, we learned as we went through the match. When we got to the break between the second and third sets, I told them we have seven minutes to change our mind about what we are going to do out there. It’s not about tactic or strategy, it is pure physical effort, and they really rallied. It wasn’t some great speech that I gave or some great thing from a coaching standpoint. I just put it on them and told them they needed to rally together and they needed to pull together as a group. Nobody else is going to do it for you. They made a really great commitment there to work hard and finish it off.”
