PISCATAWAY, N.J. — The 19th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team fell to Rutgers, 1-0, Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The match featured strong defense and goaltending from both the Hawkeyes and the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers scored in the 10th minute off a deflection on a penalty corner. The Hawkeyes earned five penalty corners in the second half including one right as time expired, but were unable to capitalize.
