Iowa Hosts Big 4 Classic

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team opens the Big 4 Classic on Friday, hosting Northern Iowa at 6 p.m. (CT). The Hawkeyes then face in-state rival Iowa State on Saturday at 1 p.m. before closing out the tournament against Drake on Sunday at 3 p.m. All games are at Pearl Field. Admission is free.
 
Iowa is 2-0 in fall contests after topping Kirkwood CC, 5-3, on Sept. 22. Allie Wood and Aralee Bogar each had a home run for the Hawkeyes.
 
All fall games will be nine innings, with the exception of the doubleheader matchup with Northern Illinois on Oct. 8. The doubleheader will feature two seven-inning games, with first pitch at 1 p.m.
