IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa track and field team will host five meets at the UI Recreation Building when the 2018 indoor season begins in January.
The Hawkeyes open the season with three straight weekends at home, starting with the Hawkeye Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 13, and continuing with the Larry Wieczorek Invitational (Jan. 19-20) and Black and Gold Premier (Jan. 26-27).
The final home meet of the indoor season is the Iowa Open on Saturday, Feb. 17. Before the spring season begins, the Hawkeyes host their annual intrasquad meet Saturday, Dec. 9. Admission to all home meets is free.
The indoor postseason begins Feb. 23-24 at the Big Ten Championships in Geneva, Ohio. The NCAA Indoor Championships are March 9-10 in College Station, Texas.
Iowa’s outdoor season includes a pair of meets in-state. The 19th annual Musco Twilight is Saturday, April 14, at Cretzmeyer Track. Two weeks later Iowa travels to Des Moines, Iowa, to defend the Hy-Vee Cup at the Drake Relays.
The Big Ten Championships are hosted by Indiana University on May 11-13, and the NCAA first round begins May 24 in Sacramento, California. The NCAA Championships are June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
