Iowa Earns No. 6 Seed in 2017 B1G Tournament

The 25th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team concludes the regular season this weekend. The Hawkeyes face Michigan State at 2 p.m. (CT) on Friday in East Lansing, Michigan and finish the season against Ohio State at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Grant Field. Iowa will honor its seniors before Sunday's match.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The 25th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team earned the No. 6 seed in the 2017 Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes (7-10; 3-5) will face third-seeded and sixth-ranked Penn State (14-3, 6-2) in University Park, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. (CT).

Penn State defeated the Hawkeyes, 3-0, on Sept. 15. Iowa registered 12 shots in the match, including six by sophomore Katie Birch.

The semifinals and championship match of the Big Ten Tournament are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 5 at Ralph Young Field in East Lansing, Michigan.
