IOWA CITY, Iowa — Five members of the University of Iowa women’s tennis team conclude their fall season this weekend in Tallahassee, Florida at the Florida State All-Conference Showdown. The Hawkeyes open the tournament at 8 a.m. (CT) on Friday at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center on the campus of Florida State.
“Our final fall tournament at Florida State is a great opportunity to compete once more before our dual match season begins in January,” said University of Iowa head coach Sasha Schmid. “The team has learned a lot and improved throughout the fall, so we are looking forward to seeing competitive singles and doubles matches all weekend long.”
The five Hawkeyes competing are freshmen Danielle Burich and Danielle Bauers, sophomore Elise van Heuvelen, junior Adorabol Huckleby, and senior Anastasia Reimchen.
The tournament includes nine teams from seven different conferences. Furman from the Southern Conference, Troy from the Sunbelt Conference, Wisconsin and Iowa from the Big Ten, South Florida and Central Florida from the American Conference, West Virginia from the Big 12, Middle Tennessee State from Conference USA, and Florida State from the ACC will all be in attendance.
The tournament will consist of six singles flights and three doubles flights with eight person draws for both.
