AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Iowa track and field team wrapped up the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays heptathlon and decathlon with a pair of top-10 finishes while another group of Hawkeyes started competition at the Florida Relays on Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore Jenny Kimbro and junior Tria Simmons completed the heptathlon inside Mike A. Myers Stadium. Kimbro set a new personal best with a total score of 5,164 points for an eighth place finish and Simmons scored 5,082 points for 13th overall.
Dougherty recorded a ninth place finish overall with a total score of 7,222 points in the decathlon. The school record holder’s best finish came in the pole vault where he cleared a personal best 4.80 meters to finish fourth.
HEPTATHLON
After completing four events yesterday, the Texas Relays heptathlon finished the competition with three more events on Thursday.
