GAINESVILLE, Fla. — One relay broke a school record, while three more entered Iowa’s all-time list as the University of Iowa track and field team capped off the Pepsi Florida Relays with a strong finish on Saturday.

The Hawkeyes broke the 4×200 meter school record and set all-time marks in the women’s 4×100 meter relay, men’s 4×200 meter relay, and the men’s 4×400 meter relay.

The women’s 4×200 meter relay clocked in at a time of 1:35.11 to break the school record set last season. The group ran a 1:35.36 to finish fifth overall in the race.
 

In the women’s 4×100 meter relay, Iowa finished seventh in 44.44 seconds, notching the fourth fastest time in program history. Seven of the ten fastest times in program history have all been set within the last four years.

The men’s 4×200 meter relay also set a top-ten time. The Hawkeyes ran 1:25.87 for a 10th place finish but slid into the program’s all-time list at No. 7.

MORE RELAYS
In the men’s and women’s sprint medley relays, the women finished in seventh place with a time of 4:00.57, while men placed sixth overall in 3:26.84.

In the 4×800 meter relay, the women finished 10th with a time of 9:15.26 and the men were sixth (7:45.02).

Iowa picked up a pair of 10th place finishes in the distance medley relays. The women ran 12:03.04 and the men clocked in at 10:12.53.

HAWKEYE THROWING OBJECTS
Reno Tuufuli finished second in the men’s discus throw invitational section with a final mark of 59.03 meters (193-8).

Erika Hammond recorded an 11th place finish with a best mark of 14.01 meters (45-11).

HAWKEYE JUMPS
Aubrianna Lantrip finished tied for second in the high jump, clearing a seasons best 1.70 meters (5-7).

Jahisha Thomas finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.04 meters (42-9.50).

UP NEXT
The Hawkeyes travel to LSU for the Battle on the Bayou on April 7.
