LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Iowa soccer team lost to Wyoming, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Madrid Sports Complex.

Iowa came out in the second half and out shot Wyoming, 6-1. Freshman Sara Wheaton made a final push for the Hawkeyes with a shot in the 83rd and 85th minute, but both went wide.

QUOTING HEAD COACH DAVE DIIANNI
“Unfortunately, we aren’t doing enough to help ourselves the last two games. Slow starts and another bad goal, albeit questionable penalty kick early and we couldn’t recover, even though we put a great deal of pressure in the second half.
“We can’t feel sorry for ourselves because next weekend we start the Big Ten portion of the schedule, in arguably the deepest conference we’ve seen in years. Getting back to work and getting better is the only answer.”
