Erika Dodridge to Join the Hawkeyes in Fall of 2019

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head women’s tennis coach Sasha Schmid announced Tuesday that Erika Dodridge will join the University of Iowa women’s tennis team in the fall of 2019.  
 
38006“Erika will be wonderful addition to our program,” said Schmid. “She is athletic, competitive, and highly motivated to work hard at Iowa to achieve academic and athletic success.  
 
“Erika’s solid baseline game and strong net play will be an asset to our singles and doubles lineups. I’m looking forward to coaching her and watch her develop and compete hard for the Hawkeyes.”
 
Dodridge is from Bournemouth, England, and prepped at Oxford Open Learning. She is a four-time International Tennis Federation champion, having won doubles titles at the Nike Junior International, Justine Henin Juniors Cup, Belfast City, and WOW Air Open tournaments.
 
She reached the top 200 of the 16U Europe Junior Circuit in 2016. She has been a part of the national development training program since she was 10-yeards old. Her brother, Josef Dodridge, played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin, where he earned All-Big Ten honors and reached as high as No. 2 in the ITA doubles rankings in 2018.
