IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa soccer juniors Hannah Drkulec and Kaleigh Haus have been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 Team, it was announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
As first team selections, both Haus and Drkulec advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
Drkulec, a defender from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, is majoring in biomedical engineering, where she carries a 4.11 grade point average. On the field, Drkulec started all 18 games, helping the Hawkeyes post six shutouts.
Haus, a forward from Des Moines, Iowa, is majoring in biomedical engineering, where she has a 4.08 grade point average. Haus started all 18 games in 2018, finishing second on the team with four goals, while tallying one assist.
Iowa finished the 2018 season with eight wins and was unbeaten at the Iowa Soccer Complex, posting a 7-0-3 record.
