Strandberg Qualifies for World University Games

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa senior diver Thelma Strandberg has qualified for the 2019 World University Games in the platform diving event. The 30th Summer Universiade will be held in Napoli, Italy, from July 3-14.
 
Strandberg, who will be diving for Norway, will compete in the platform preliminaries and semifinals on July 3 at the Piscina Mostra D’Oltremare Napoli.  Finals will be held July 4.
 
The Kristiansand, Norway, native is a two-time NCAA qualifier off the platform.  She dove to a collegiate best in the event during her junior season, posting a score of 254.70 at the Hawkeye Invitational.

Iowa men’s swimmer Anze Fers Erzen will also compete at the World University Games, competing in the 200-meter backstroke.
