IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team released its 2020 schedule, UI head coach Renee Gillispie announced Friday.
The schedule features 16 games home games and six away tournaments, including the Hawaii Tournament, Feb. 21-23.
The Hawkeyes open tournament play in the Coastal Carolina Tournament, Feb. 7-9 before taking part in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, hosted by Georgia Tech, Feb. 16-20. Iowa will face off against Boston College and Georgia Tech.
Iowa travels to Honolulu, Hawaii, for the Hawaii Tournament, Feb. 21-23, and then plays back-to-back tournaments in Madeira Beach, Florida, for The Spring Games, Feb. 28-March 1 and March 6-8. Iowa concludes its tournament season at the University of South Florida, March 13-16.
Iowa will play its final game in Florida against Florida Gulf Coast, March 17.
Iowa makes its 2020 home debut March 20 against Maryland for the beginning of an eight-game homestand that includes a doubleheader against Nebraska and series against Michigan State.
The Hawkeyes hit the road for their first Big Ten road action against Northwestern, April 3-5, then return to Iowa City for a midweek matchup against the Drake Bulldogs. Iowa faces Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J., for a three-game series in its second straight Big Ten road series.
Iowa returns home for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series on April 15 in Ames, Iowa. before a three-game series against Purdue in Iowa City. Iowa hosts Northern Iowa for its final midweek match of the year and closes the regular season in Bloomington, Indiana, in a series against the Hoosiers.
The postseason begins in Champaign, Illinois, with the Big Ten Tournament, May 7-9. Click HERE for the complete schedule.
