NORMAN, Okla. – University of Iowa senior Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Central Regional Championships.
In the round of 32 van Heuvelen Treadwell defeated Alana Wolfberg from Oklahoma State, 7-6 (1), 6-3.
Van Heuvelen Treadwell will face Camila Romero from Oklahoma in the round of 16 tomorrow.
“Elise played solid today,” said head coach Sasha Schmid. “I know she is looking forward to another great opportunity tomorrow in her round of 16 match.”
In consolation matches Danielle Burich defeated Paulina Engback from Central Arkansas, 6-3, 7-6 (4). Danielle Bauers beat Vivien Abraham from Missouri, 7-5, 6-3. Michelle Bacalla beat Maja Gledic from Central Arkansas, 6-0, 6-2. Erika Dodridge lost against Megan Hopton from Tulsa, 6-2, 6-2. Ashleigh Jacobs lost to Fuka Nonoyama from Central Arkansas, 7-5, 6-3.
Iowa’s doubles teams were stopped in the round of 32.
