IOWA CITY, Iowa — Three volleyball standouts — Bailey Ortega, Leanne Lowry, and Audrey Black — have signed national letters of intent to play volleyball at the University of Iowa, head coach Vicki Brown announced Tuesday.

Bailey Ortega
Setter | Davenport, Iowa

“I am so excited to add Bailey to our roster. She brings an upbeat and kapow kind of personality. She is a true competitor and great addition to round out our 2020 class.”

Leanne Lowry
Defensive Specialist | Castle Rock, Colorado

“Leanne has been committed to our program for over four years. She is a true Hawkeye. She is coming in as one of the most elite liberos from the state of Colorado. Lowry has a great touch and reads the court well. Her calm and competitive style of play will bring more competition to our DS/Lib group.”

Audrey Black
Outside Hitter | Aurora, Colorado

“When I first saw Audrey play, she was dominating jumper and hit a heavy ball. I am looking forward to her bring more physicality to our outside group.”

The Hawkeyes close the regular season this weekend against Ohio State and Maryland on Friday and Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for a 7 p.m. (CT) first serve.
