AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team fell to No. 7 Texas on Friday afternoon at the Texas Tennis Center.
Texas took the doubles point by winning the number two and number three positions. Fernanda Labraña and Marta Perez Mur defeated Ashleigh Jacobs and Danielle Bauers, 6-2. Adri Nagy and Lexi Ryngler beat Samantha Mannix and Danielle Burich, 6-1.
Texas took three singles matches to clinch the victory. No. 4 Anna Turati defeated Mannix 6-2, 6-0. No. 98 Labraña defeated Bauers 6-0, 6-2. Tijana Spasojevic beat Burich 6-0, 6-0.

“Today we played a tough opponent and didn’t settle into the match and play like ourselves. It’s disappointing, and now we have the challenge of refocusing and being ready to compete.”
