LINCOLN, Neb. – The University of Iowa track and field team won seven events and recorded 16 career bests Saturday at the Nebraska Triangular inside the Devaney Center.
Two Hawkeye freshmen recorded their first career all-time top 10 marks. Paige Magee ran the 10th best all-time 60-meter hurdles race, winning her heat of the prelims (8.46). Austin Kresley put his mark in the record books finishing second in the 60 meter final (7.73), a mark that put him in a three way tie for third all-time with Kurt Felix and Tevin-Cee Mincy.
The Hawkeyes swept the podium in two separate events. In the men’s 600 meters the Hawkeyes went 1,2,3, led by the Tyler Olson in 1:18.8. In the Men’s 400 meters, Wayne Lawrence Jr. led the charge winning in 46.6. Lawrence also anchored the gold medal 1,600-meter relay with a mark of 3:12.23.
Jamal Britt also won a pair of titles, finishing first in the 60-meter hurdles (7.89) and 200 meters (21.40).
