IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa senior Jaylan McConico has been named Big Ten track and field athlete of the week, the conference office announced Wednesday.
McConico won the gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles at the Billy Hayes Invitational last weekend, recording back-to-back career bests in the prelims and finals. He recorded a time of 13.54 in the prelims and bested that mark by winning the finals in 13.42, the second-best mark in program history and the fourth best time in the NCAA this season.
