IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa left-handed pitcher Jack Dreyer signed a professional contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an undrafted free agent.
The Johnston, Iowa, native finishes his Hawkeye career with an 8-3 record and a 3.41 ERA over 20 games, including 10 starts. Dreyer went 5-2 as a freshman in 2018 over a career-best 31 2/3 innings.
After making just two starts (and going 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA) in an injury-shortened 2019 season, Dreyer was 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA as Iowa’s Friday starter in 2020 before the season was wiped out because of COVID-19. He missed the duration of the 2021 season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Dreyer finishes his career as a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
