Hawkeyes Down NIACC, 14-2

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa Softball team defeated North Iowa Area Community College, 14-2, on Friday afternoon at Pearl Field.

Breanna Vasquez got the start in the circle for the Hawkeyes, pitching just one inning and striking out the side. Emma Henderson and Katherine Serna pitched two innings apiece, each striking out four batters. Britney Lewinski and MJ Rouse closed out the game for the Hawkeyes each pitching one inning.

Four Hawkeyes hit home runs in the contest: Kalena Burns, Denali Loecker, Anna Henderson, and Sophia Maras. 

Nia Carter was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Maras was 3-for-3. Anna Henderson contributed three RBIs for the Hawkeyes while Emma Henderson contributed two.
