IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa Softball team defeated Des Moines Area Community College, 18-2, on Friday afternoon at Pearl Field.
Breanna Vasquez got the start for the Hawkeyes throwing four innings and striking out seven. She allowed only one walk and one unearned run. Kat Serna threw three innings for Iowa striking out four. Emma Henderson and Haley Downe each threw one inning for the Hawkeyes.
Three Hawkeyes hit home runs in the contest: Grace Banes, Kalena Burns and Brylee Klosterman. Klosterman was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Burns notched 3 hits with three RBIs. Banes also tallied three RBIs.
