Volleyball Adds Tulane Transfer Anna Davis

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Tulane transfer Anna Davis will join the University of Iowa volleyball team, it was announced Tuesday by head coach Jim Barnes.

Davis, a middle hitter from Castle Rock, Colorado, played her first two seasons with the Green Wave before entering the transfer portal.

Davis started all 32 matches she played in the fall, appearing in 119 sets. She totaled 232 kills, 63 digs, 92 blocks (0.77 per set), and 25 services aces.

In the spring 2021 season, Davis saw action in 20 games and 76 sets. She posted 159 kills, 19 digs, and 40 blocks in her first season in New Orleans.

Davis was a second-team All-America pick and one of the top 50 senior players in the nation according to PrepVolleyball.com as a prep at Valor Christian High School. She totaled 964 kills while hitting .474 in 391 sets, and 185 service aces and 408 total blocks over her four years. Davis helped lead Valor Christian to its first-ever state championship in 5A. She was named the South Metro Co-Volleyball Player of the Year to go along with being a second team all-state pick and first team all-league selection.
