The Hawkeyes committed a season-high six errors.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Oregon State had a three-run second inning and added another two runs in the fourth inning after a pair of RBI doubles. The Beavers added two runs in the sixth with the help of three Hawkeye errors.

Iowa scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Junior Kalena Burns singled to center field to leadoff the inning. Sophomore Sammy Diaz singled, and freshman Maggie Vasa reached on a fielder’s choice. Freshman Anna Henderson singled to load the bases.  Vasa would score on a throwing error by the catcher. Klosterman then singled through the right side to score another run.

HEAR FROM HEAD COACH RENEE GILLIPIE

“We saw good production out of our backups that came in. They had opportunities to come into the game, they came in a did a great job defensively and offensively. Denali looked good again, we didn’t play well behind her or Bre. But the pitching staff looked solid this weekend. There are a few things we need to adjust on defensively, including being more aggressive. I think we will be ready to go next weekend in Leesburg.
