PEORIA, Ariz. – Junior Morgan Goldstein fired an even par 72 – a season-low score – to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team on the final day of the Westbrook Invitational on Monday at Westbrook Village Golf Club.
The Hawkeyes finished in 14th place as a team, finishing with a 54-hole total of 899. Iowa shot a 299 on Monday, its seventh-best round of the season.
Freshman Paula Miranda paced the team, finishing tied for 23rd. Miranda fired a two-over par 74 on Monday to finish with a three-round total of 218. Miranda’s front nine consisted of two birdies and seven pars. The Mexico native finished ninth among all competitors on par 3s.
Miranda’s 218 total is the second-lowest total of the season.
Goldstein’s final round 72 saw her move up 11 spots on the leaderboard. Goldstein had four birdies on the round and she finished in a tie for 52nd place with a 223 (78-73-72).
Senior Manuela Lizarazu shot a final round 78 with an eagle and birdie on her score card. The Colombia native finished 68th overall with a 227 (73-76-78). Junior Lea Zeitler finished tied for 75th place shooting a four-over par 76 on Monday. Zeitler, who had two birdies and 10 pars during her final round, finished with a 232 total (75-81-76).
Senior Dana Lerner had her best round of the tournament on Monday, firing two bridies en route to a 77 (+5) to finish 80th overall. She finished with a 242 total (83-82-77).
