McKiver Earns Second-Straight B1G Men’s Runner of the Week Honor

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa track and field athlete Jenoah McKiver was named the Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

The weekly honor is the second-consecutive for McKiver, and the third of his career. This marks the third time a Hawkeye has been honored as Big Ten Athlete of the Week this season (LaSarah Hargrove, Dec. 15).

McKiver ran the eighth-fastest 600-meter time (all conditions) in NCAA history (1:15.36) at the Meyo Invite on Feb. 5. That time leads the Big Ten and improved McKiver’s own school record at Iowa.

McKiver doubled back to anchor Iowa’s conference-leading and meet-winning 4×400-meter relay (3:05.63). The Hawkeye quartet of Khullen Jefferson, Julien Gillum, Chadrick Richards and McKiver currently leads the Big Ten and ranks eighth nationally.

McKiver continues to lead the Big Ten in three events, additionally leading the league in the 400 meters (45.78), which is No. 2 in the NCAA.

The Hawkeyes split up this weekend and head to the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
