OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – The University of Iowa softball team was defeated, 20-0, in five innings Sunday by the No. 1 nationally ranked Oklahoma Sooners at OGE Energy Field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium.
Senior Breanna Vasquez got the start for the Hawkeyes in the circle and took the loss, moving her record to 5-6 on the season.
The Iowa offense was unable to muster a hit against Oklahoma pitcher Jordy Bahl.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Oklahoma scored four runs in both the first and second innings. A seven-run third inning broke things open even further, and the Sooners capped the game off with a five-run fourth.
