Iowa Men's Wrestling Releases Complete 2022-23 Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Head coach Tom Brands released the complete University of Iowa wrestling schedule for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes will host eight duals inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season.

Here are notes about the 2022-23 season:

– Iowa opens the season hosting Cal Baptist on Nov. 13 on Mediacom Mat. The Hawkeyes will also host Pennsylvania (Nov. 26), Iowa State (Dec. 4) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 19) in nonconference home duals.
– The team’s first road trip sees the Hawkeyes traveling to New York to face Army in West Point on Nov. 17 before taking part in the Arm Bar in the Armory in Albany, New York, facing Sacred Heart and Buffalo on Nov. 18.
– Iowa’s final nonconference dual will be at Chattanooga on Dec. 10.
– Three Hawkeyes – Real Woods, Jacob Warner and Tony Cassioppi – will compete at the NWCA All-Star Classic in Austin, Texas, on Nov. 22.
– Iowa will close out the 2022 calendar year competing in the Soldier Salute at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa. The event will take place on Dec. 29-30.
– The Hawkeyes host Illinois (Jan. 6), Northwestern (Jan. 13), Nebraska (Jan. 20) and Michigan (Feb. 20) in Big Ten duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
– Iowa travels for league road duals at Purdue (Jan. 8), Wisconsin (Jan. 22), Penn State (Jan. 27) and Minnesota (Feb. 3).
– The postseason begins at the Big Ten Championships on March 4-5 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, while the 2023 NCAA Championships will be held from March 16-18 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Hawkeyes have three returning 2022 All-Americans in Jacob Warner, Real Woods and Tony Cassioppi in 2022-23. Iowa also welcomes back three-time NCAA champion Spencer Lee at 125 pounds.
