IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Black team won the third game (six innings) of the annual University of Iowa baseball team Black & Gold World Series, 3-1, on Thursday afternoon to clinch the series.
Freshman Cade Obermueller got the start for the Black team throwing 3.1 innings while striking out four batters. Redshirt junior Jacob Henderson threw 2.2 innings striking out three as he closed the game.
Freshman Gable Mitchell went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI for the Black team. Redshirt freshman Coy Sarsfield was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Freshman Aaron Savary got the start for the Gold team and threw four innings with two strikeouts. Junior Cade Moss was 1-for-1 with an RBI.
